Bargain Holidays for 2010**
|
To get the best deals avaible you will need to keep
an open mind as to when and where you want to travel, and be prepared
to do a lot of searching around to find something that suits your
needs.
Although many people think that self catering accommodation
is best for a bargain holiday, however often times a half-board
hotel isn't much more for a 7 day holiday and as it includes the
costs of breakfasts and dinner each day too, these deals are definitely
worth checking out.
Below are a few money saving tips:
- Be flexible about your departure
date. Some larger tour operators are left with rows of empty seats
on less popular flights and will often sell
them off cheap within 2 weeks of the departure date.
- Bargain holiday deals are normally
available outside the school holidays particularly during May/June
and September/October.
- Even though July and August are
more expensive, you can still manage to bag a bargain to destinations
such as Turkey.
- Keep an eye out for new brochures
as they often feature a limited number of introductory offers
such as free child places.
- January and February are the peak sales season
for the travel industry and see fierce competition and undercutting,
so keep a lookout for
the chance of further incentives.
- Business Class? Amazingly, in peak holiday season
and at Christmas, business class fares can sometimes work out
cheaper than Economy
fares because they are less seasonal.
Discovering cheap holidays is essentially easier
than you would
think and bargain holidays are still out there.
Conversely though, with big tour operators scaling back on capacity
and with package holiday places reduced, the popular "Book
early to save money" mantra is actually becoming true.
